Another day another workshop

Last Saturday we had one of our workshops, this time to both work on risk assessment and welcome our new team members! As the competition is only three months away, we know that there might be a lot of things that could go wrong before everything is all set to go to London. To ensure that we will see the finish line at the Shell Eco Marathon this Summer, we used the workshop to focus on identifying risks.

When we have our workshops we aren't only focused on what we have to do before London, but also on our team spirit! So for us students (and most people we imagine) what could be better than ordering pizza and eating together to make that happen?

After a day of working, coming up with new ideas and eating pizza to make us into an even stronger team for the track, we went out to have some fun to work on friendship as we here at DNV GL Fuel Fighter believe that it isn’t only important that we work together well as a team, but also build friendships that will hopefully last longer than this project!

All in all it was a successful workshop, both practically and on a more personal level, we are all already looking forward to the next time we get together as a team!

Working towards the Shell Eco-Marathon

The last six months we have been working hard designing, creating and building everything we will need to get the car ready for the Shell Eco-Marathon in May! Using this blog we are going to share our last months of working on this project and off course our journey to London and the competition there!

This year will note a big change for us here at DNV GL Fuel Fighter as we have decided to switch from using a hydrogen car to an electric one! We spent quite a bit of time discussing the pros and cons of doing so, but in the end we decided to go for an electric car. Our reasons for this will be explained in a later blog post.

We have also been focusing on becoming a TeamWhich has been helped along with workshops, long hours working in our office and workshop, social gatherings and off course sharing the same goal: Producing the best car possible!

There is still a lot to do before we are ready for the competition, but we are all working hard and we have done so much already! The neverending cycle of developing, testing and building a fully working car is definitively well under way! We are both excited and a bit nervous about all the work we will be doing in the next couple of months to get everything assembled and working together, but also confident we will handle it! So from all of us here at DNV GL Fuel Fighter, thank you for your support and we are looking forward to sharing our work with you in this blog!
